Why it's a Favorite:

A unique gem of a story that combines deep, unflinching psychological insight, raw sexuality, and poignant tenderness. The characters and voices of Xena and Ares, and the dynamics between them, are captured perfectly here; those who have wondered how Xena really feels about Ares may find a convincing answer. Thamiris provides no easy resolution to the complicated relationship between the God of War and the Warrior Princess -- indeed, she leaves the reader unsure just what the "right" resolution would have been. But the twist at the end is likely to leave many readers smiling through tears.

Why it's a Favorite:

An "alternate season 5," Book II begins with the time period of "Chakram." Tango keeps all the essentials in this one too, but re-mixes, re-matches and adds things that were "left out" or seemingly glossed over in the show. It's a whole new tale that in some ways is more satisfactory than season 5 itself.

Why it's a Favorite:

Book II leaves one as breathless as Book I - suspense that keeps you on the edge and nearly as tense as Xena and Gabrielle themselves as the constant push/pull between Xena and Ares and the clash of four indominable wills threatens to destroy not only them, but the Amazons as well.

Why it's a Favorite:

The story plays on the developments of three very different personalities and makes everything fall into place naturally. The characterizations for all involved are right on.

Why it's a Favorite:

Why is it not surprising that Xena has no more patience with a computer than most people? An excellent story well told — well developed characters, lots of tension and a well executed climax.

Why it's a Favorite:

Written from Xena's POV, this is an insightful rendering of "You Are There". Tango reveals Xena's thought process smoothly and beautifully.

Why it's a Favorite:

This well-written tale looks at the birth of the Warrior Princess - the period in Xena's life that seems to be perpetually "ten summers ago" on the show. It stitches together these glimpses of Xena's past to create a new story that is both the same and different. It's engaging, intriguing, and thought provoking.

Why it's a Favorite:

Fast paced, over the top comedy that sets you to giggling before you know quite where you are. Beware though - Tali believes in "Equal Opportunity Bashing"!

Why it's a Favorite:

Check logic and show canon at the door to be picked up on your way out! This first in a series of 3 soap opera spoofs is hilarious from word one. Need to just laugh? This is the story for you!

Why it's a Favorite:

This is the 2nd in Tali's soap opera spoof set - more belly shaking laughter so be prepared. Do not take a sip from your drink just before you get started!

Why it's a Favorite:

The 3rd in this series doesn't end the spoofing possibilities. Be careful or you'll find yourself laughing the rest of the day.

Why it's a Favorite:

This unusual story tells of the last moment that Ares spent with Xena from Aprodite's POV. Intense and heartbreaking — Tali does serious every bit as well as she does comedy.

Why it's a Favorite:

Intensely emotional - Tali doesn't use a lot of words, but every one counts.

Why it's a Favorite:

Taleen has a way with getting down into Xena's mind and letting us experience the conflicting emotions hidden there. This story doesn't disappoint - once more Xena is torn between the emotions she feels, the emotions she feels she has to keep hidden from the world, and the emotions she is uncomfortable expressing even to herself.

Why it's a Favorite:

Fresh and original, Taleen tells the story in true Ares voice to give us a look at his sometimes confused but eternally hopeful thoughts. Even when he's decided things are as bad as they can get, there is something about him that just refuses to give up - especially on Xena.

Why it's a Favorite:

When Xena walks away from Ares for the second time at the end of "Coming Home", what's left to the ex-God of War? You cannot help but be moved by Taleen's sensitive, insightful exploration of Ares' struggle with mortality and his attempts to rebuild his life.

Why it's a Favorite:

A terrific sequel to "Maybe Later" with an ending that packs quite a punch.

Why it's a Favorite:

Drama, psychological insight, romance -- this finely written, moving alternate version of the first meeting between mortal Ares and Xena after the Twilight of the Gods has it all. Taleen does a beautiful job of capturing the interaction between Ares and Xena.

Why it's a Favorite:

In this dramatic sequel to "Truth and Consequences," Taleen meets the difficult challenge of depicting a God of War who has been changed by his love for Xena and by his experiences as a mortal while remaining in character, and without crossing the line into sentimentality.

Why it's a Favorite:

A beautifully written, poignant story of two people trying to cope with their grief.

Why it's a Favorite:

The reason for the ability to return is as viable as any in the Xenaverse and more believable than most. Just the right touch of skeptism for Ares and just the right touch uncertainty in asking for help by Gabrielle.

Why it's a Favorite:

As the title suggests, it's a new beginning for the irresistible GOW and the Warrior Princess. Once the emotional barriers are down, they're down, and it's no different for the God of War than anyone else. Combine that with great adventure and steamy sex, and it's a story not to be resisted.

Why it's a Favorite:

Ever wonder why Xena wasn't surprised to see the gorgeous GOW in Rome? Here's your answer - and a telling moment for Hercules as he understands his brother as never before.
