- Why it's a Favorite:
- Refreshing, unexpected, and original are the first words that come to mind for this wonderful tale with a unique twist along the way.
- Why it's a Favorite:
- This "ultra-uber (or are they)" (as McJude puts it) is a more than fitting conclusion for her story. "Ari's Ashes" and "You Have To Die,..." together are a charming tale of life and love everlasting.

- Rated PG
File Size: 23K Est Download Time: 4 sec. Uber. A man reflects on the death of a beloved wife, friend, and lover.
- Why it's a Favorite:
- Some of the best fan fiction comes from challenges. The challenge in this case was to resolve the problems left running rampant by the writers between FIN and "The Xena Scrolls". While there have been several theories written, McJude brings a most unique and creative perspective.
- Why it's a Favorite:
- It's really hard to describe why this is a favorite it touches somewhere deep inside with thankfulness for yesterday and hope for tomorrow.

- The Sword and the Serpent
- Rated PG-13
File Size: 126K Est Download Time: 22 sec. Marina's Ares-centric idea (but also featuring Xena, Iolaus, Gabrielle, and Hercules) for how the Dahak storyline that ran through both Herc and Xena should have ended. (Obviously, this story was superseded by the Xena two-part episode 'Sacrifice' and subsequent episodes of both shows, particularly the 5th season of Herc, but ...)

- Why it's a Favorite:
- This story is everything that is good in fan fiction, and then some. Perfect characterisation, clever, witty dialogue and a plot that would make Hollywood green with envy - it even manages to make sense of the various religious systems of the Xenaverse! A professionally written, vividly cinematic tale that will capture your imagination.

- Family
- Rated PG-13
File Size: 20K Est Download Time: 6 sec. Ares romps with his "family".
- This story is rated PG-13 for implied sexual relations between two women and a man. If this offends you, please find another story to read.
- Why it's a Favorite:
- This is one of those stories that make you feel like you're watching an actual episode of the show. The action sequences are dramatic and vividly written, and the scenes between Xena and Gabrielle as they face mortal danger are filled with poignant emotion. The dynamic between Ares and Xena is captured excellently here, and the tenderness hidden under the War God's façade of bravado and cynicism cannot fail to make a powerful impression.
- Why it's a Favorite:
- A short vignette, alternately amusing and poignant, with more than one unusual twist. It's impossible to say much more without giving away these twists -- except to say that, whether or not you can envision the relationship depicted in this story, you will find it entertaining and sweet.
